Well after a whirlwind road trip of Ireland in which we drove across
the country, down and then back again I now find myself in Dublin. In
a short three days we managed to drive through Limerick, take in the
Dingle Peninsula and stumble upon a bloody funny white seal, visit
Blarney castle and kiss the Blarney stone, spend a night in Cork, and
all the while managing to keep up a daily medication of Guinness or Murphy’s.

The medication seems to be working because I’m not as
horribly sick as I was leading up to the trip. I think all the travel
has worn me down a bit.
In Dublin, the Guinness factory was high on the priority list, with an
afternoon pint at the top in the Gravity Bar, and a brilliant view of Dublin.
for the moment I think I’ll try to meet some Irish and see what
Dublin’s all about. Sunday’s Rugby match against Ireland should be an
interesting time here. I’ll be sure to sport the green and gold.

Also the touristy thing of travelling about on a bus,
listening to all the monotonous commentary but at least getting a good
general view of the city.
I also managed to catch up with the twin sister of a friend I met in
Coffs. Bizarre talking to someone you’ve never met and all the while
thinking you know them. Good to see a friendly face in Dublin though
and got a lot of good advice.
So now I’m just gonna sit and wait for some calls tomorrow about bar
jobs and hopefully spend a bit of time working here before heading off

A bit of travel weariness has started to set in, attributed in no
small part to being sick with the flu, and a quiet longing
for the homeland is beginning to be more prevalent, but things have
been going so great that I may as well roll with it while I can.
The end is getting nearer, savor it while I can and when I eventually
return home penniless I just have to keep telling myself, memories are
better than money.
