My days at the hostel are finally over with. Not that it wasn’t fun but after a month of living there the expense was too much and it’s great to finally have my own room and unpack a severley over burdened car. Cue to possibly the perfect place to spend a summer, the self-described ‘party house’.
After a couple of places fell through I managed to go check out a place that a french couple from the hostel were moving into and was instantly sold. This ten-bedroom mansion has amongst other things, a pool table, foosball table, music studio complete with several guitars, djembes and a drum kit; a four foot projector tv screen and even it’s own bar. (sources tell me the jacuzzi should be in, in the next couple of weeks. Add to this mix 12 cool people that love to party and you start to get the impression that it could be a crazy summer. Work has already taken a bit of a battering after some late nights so I can’t imagine how it will be handled in the next couple of weeks. Then again at least it’s a 10.30 start compared to the good ol 6.30 fernie mornings.
The last week has been all about recovery after an impromptu trip to Bellingham in the states to catch up with some old friends from the IH days. Great party had by all, with some cool music, plenty of drunken antics and some good reminiscing.
In other news Socceroos are ready to kick some ass after a decent draw with the dutch. Not quite the fever I expect that it would be back home at the moment but at least I’m in the right hemisphere to get some decent game times.
And for all those who embrace the great Canadian game of Hockey, tonight’s game 1 of the Stanley cup final. Go the bloody Oilers!!!!!!
Enough for now though, for all the current travelers keep the good stories coming and look forward to hearing from those that are about to take off. The rest of yas need to chuck in your respective jobs and hop a plane somewhere, anywhere and i’ll come find ya for a drink.
